THE BRIGHTON MONTE

Sunday 21 November 2021

THE CONFLUENCE OF THE BRIGHTON “MONTE” AND LUNCH

Porsche won the 1968 Monte Carlo Rally with Vic Elford and David Stone in the 2.0 911s. In those days and until 1991 they started from multiple points in Europe and rallied to the events confluence in Monte Carlo.

To celebrate the end of our lockdown we have our own “Monte” with three starting points around Melbourne to choose from with all culminating at Porsche Centre Brighton at 12.30pm for a delightful alfresco lunch, drinks and socialising with our fellow members, whom we have not seen for a long while, and concluding at 3pm.

Our first run commences at Yarrambat, through the twists and turns of the best roads of Diamond Creek, Nutfield and St Andrews and ending in Warrandyte, then on to Brighton. Contact person Stephen Lofthouse 041 1259 629.

The second run commences at McDonald’s Calder Park heading North, through the twists and turns of Gisborne and some excellent country backroads, then through the inner bayside suburbs onto Brighton. Contact person Kon Gogos 0412 371 338.

The third run commences at Langwarrin's McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park, from there you traverse the back roads along the Dandenongs, then on to Brighton. Contact person Geoff Mould 0416 000 035.

Further details will be provided on each run, being commencement address, time, distance and route to be taken.

Lunch service will provide large grazing tables with the menu exhibiting a Christmas theme, red and white wine, soft drinks and coffee at a mere $45 per head, thanks to our generous Club. After a 2 hour run most attendees will enjoy stretching their legs and circulating to eat, drink and mingle but there will be some limited seating available, prioritised for those that need it.

Cost: $45 per head.

Includes:  Choice of run, grazing table lunch, red and white wine, soft drinks, espresso coffee.
