Mid Week Run to Lorne

The drive will be from Melbourne to the the bypass of Geelong to morning tea at Inverleigh on the Hamilton Highway, and then a drive through the hills to Lorne. If time permits, we will drive further to Wye River and back to Lorne to The Pier Restaurant for lunch.

Members may choose to use the scenic Ocean Road to Angelsea for their return journey.

MEET: 10.15am at Inverleigh. Red Door Cafe, 15 High Street. Tel. 5264 1553.

The meeting place for the run will be at the Red Door Cafe in Inverleigh. From the apex of the Westgate Bridge, take the M1 Geelong (Princes Freeway) turnoff. Do not go into Geelong. Continue on the M1, the Geelong bypass, and turn off onto the B140 (then turn right, to the west) onto the Hamilton Highway which will take you to Inverleigh. Watch carefully for this turnoff, as it is on a bend, so not much notice. Continue on the B140 for 24 kms. The Red Door Cafe is on your left in the small township.

According to Mr Google it is 91kms from Westgage Br to Inverleigh (1 hour 7 mins.)
